These terms apply when you browse, create an account, or post content on Seabay. By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What Seabay does
Seabay is an online marketplace that helps people discover boats and contact sellers. We are not a boat dealer or broker, and we do not negotiate, complete, or guarantee a transaction. Buyers and sellers make and perform their own agreements directly with each other. We do not take payment, hold deposits, or provide escrow.
Listings are free during beta. We may change features or pricing in the future and will update these terms when needed.
Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials private and give us accurate account information. You are responsible for activity through your account. Contact Support promptly if you believe someone else has access.
Listings and messages
You may post only content you have the right to use. Listings must be truthful, current, lawful, and about a boat you are authorized to offer. Do not post deceptive claims, another person’s private information, unlawful content, spam, or material that infringes someone else’s rights. Keep messages respectful and use them for legitimate buying and selling conversations.
You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Seabay permission to host, display, format, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the marketplace. You can edit or remove your listings through your account, subject to records we need to retain for safety, legal, or operational reasons.
Review and enforcement
We review listings before they go live and may decline, remove, limit, or investigate content or accounts when needed to protect users, enforce these terms, or comply with law. A report is a request for review, not proof of a violation; the listing may remain visible while we assess it. We do not promise to identify every issue or independently verify every listing, seller, boat, or claim.
Buying, selling, and safety
You are responsible for evaluating a boat, verifying ownership and title, arranging inspections, deciding whether to transact, and complying with applicable laws. Seabay is not responsible for the condition, ownership, availability, or description of a boat, or for the actions of a buyer or seller. Read our safety guidance before arranging a sale.
Availability and liability
We work to keep Seabay available and useful, but provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the service or a transaction arranged through it. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. Questions? Contact Support.
